GP France – Medium and Soft Tires on the Menu

Hirohide Hamashima – Director of Bridgestone Motorsport:

Magny Cours is an interesting circuit because it offers a wide range of challenges in one lap. Good tire stability in fast corners and good traction in slow corners are essential on this track.

There are different types of tarmac on this circuit, and two-thirds of it were redone before last year’s race. When we have sunshine, the circuit can get very hot and very quickly. The wind can also complicate things for the teams.

« In Barcelona, we tested our hard compounds and good data was collected. These were essential for the teams to evaluate their latest parts and modifications. »

« After almost a year and a half with this type of tires, all the teams have a good understanding of them, and everyone is looking for the slightest improvement because the competitors are not far behind. »
