India will be ready to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2010 with the construction of the new circuit set to begin at the end of the year. It was the owner of Force India, Vijay Mallya, who confirmed this on Friday.
The president of the Indian Olympic Association (AIO), Suresh Kalmadi, announced that last year the Formula One Management (FOM) signed a 10-year contract with them and approved two sites on the outskirts of New Delhi to build a circuit.
Mallya stated during the press conference on Friday in Germany at Hockenheim that the plot of land for building the track had already been purchased and that construction of the circuit would begin in October.
