Kimi Räikkönen acknowledges that the Ferraris were a bit behind the McLarens during a German Grand Prix that proved difficult for the Scuderia.
While McLaren, through its lead driver Lewis Hamilton, achieved a tremendous victory, the Ferrari duo Felipe Massa and Räikkönen could only secure third and sixth places.
When asked if the results at Hockenheim meant that McLaren is now the fastest team, Räikkönen replied: « It seems so. »
« This weekend, they were very strong. Always in the last race, the drivers were very good. We must hope that we will find the solution to our problems and that we will be back for the next race. »
The reigning world champion stated that he was never able to compete with the competition at Hockenheim.
« It’s not exactly what we were expecting, » added Räikkönen.
« It was very difficult throughout the race. We need to look at the reasons for this situation and find possible improvements. »
« I don’t know if it’s the setup of the single-seater but we have had difficulties since the beginning of the weekend.
« Unfortunately, we lost some points but that’s the race. We must look forward and don’t worry, we are doing that, » he continued.
« Of course, during this week’s tests, we will try to find solutions to the problems we encountered this weekend. But after a race like this, we just need to work hard, and the improvements will come. »
