Fernando Alonso confessed that anything is possible regarding his future plans.

The Spaniard should wait until the end of summer to make any decision about the team that will host him in 2009. He is strongly linked to Ferrari but not before 2010 according to the latest rumors. The double world champion insists that ‘everything’ is not bad at Renault despite the difficulties he is facing this season.

« My current position with its difficulties might be helped because I’ve already made a name for myself in this sport, » he stated in the columns of the Daily Telegraph.

« Now, I think that the fans understand how difficult it is to achieve results. It takes some time to recover and rebuild motivation again. »

Sometimes it seems that I’m the only one who thinks this way. But I know that Michael Schumacher won two titles with Benetton then waited five years to become champion again with Ferrari. I haven’t managed to win a title with McLaren and this year, it won’t be possible either. It’s only been two years.

« We hope that next year the title race will be possible. I have a lot of time and my ambition is to win as many world championships as possible, » continued the Iberian.

Although linked to Ferrari, Honda Racing also seems to be interested in the Spaniard.

« I still love this sport just as much. There are ups and downs. The good moments are hard to forget. These are extraordinary feelings in a lifetime. »

« It is true that two or three years ago, I didn’t think I would stay long in F1, as Michael used to say in his time. I started at 19 with Minardi. At the time, I believed that 19 or 20 years in Formula 1 was the ideal age. F1 drains a lot of your energy, » admitted Alonso.

« Now, my opinion has changed. I am 26 years old and I could stay another 10 or 11 years. I am thirsty for success and I am ready to devote the necessary time to achieve those successes again. »

When asked about his future plans, he states: « Nothing will be decided before the end of the summer. Then, I will sit down with my advisors around a table and decide what is best for me and Renault. There are many things to consider. Anything is possible. »
