Martin Whitmarsh, CEO of McLaren F1, stated that the team was focusing on other priorities.
« His goal was to improve the performance of the single-seater, we found that this advantage could be compensated elsewhere, » explained Whitmarsh about this element.
« As you can clearly see, this element has a large structure that is particularly sensitive to crosswinds. »
« This is therefore not one of our priorities at the moment. »
Whitmarsh also stated that McLaren continued to develop its car and that new components would appear for the next race in Valencia.
We have 50 km of testing before Valencia. We continue the development of new parts for the single-seater.
« We will not disclose any information about these private tests, but I’m sure you will see new elements appear during Friday’s trials in Valencia. »
