Christian Klien stated this week that he sees his role as a test driver for BMW-Sauber as his best chance for 2009.
The Austrian and former racing driver for Jaguar and Red Bull has often expressed his desire to return to a Formula 1 starting grid, but he has once again ruled out this possibility at the beginning of the season for Force India.
« I prefer to be a test driver for BMW Sauber rather than racing with Force India.
« Of course, many extremely talented people work for Force India, but with the VMJ01, you can only showcase your talent when it rains, » he explained in an interview for motorline.
BMW-Sauber is expected to decide on its driver line-up for next year in August or September.
« I want to stay with the team, » added Klien, who ruled out dropping into the GP2 series but remains open to the idea of participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans again in 2009.
He also ruled out any reconciliation with the IndyCar championship in the United States because this sport is too dangerous.
