Robert Kubica for BMW-Sauber hopes that the problems he experienced in Hungary will not be repeated this new race weekend with the European Grand Prix.

The Pole could do no better than eighth place at the Hungaroring, while his teammate Nick Heidfeld finished tenth. This race was the third in a row where Kubica finished outside the top six. The team must address this situation if they want to compete with McLaren and Ferrari.

Finally, he said he was surprised by such a mediocre pace in Hungary and hopes not to encounter these problems again on Valencia’s street circuit.

« A few laps after the start, the single-seater became very difficult to drive. My feeling is that the tire pressure was too high. In these circumstances, you can only slow down. Grip and traction became very weak. After the first stop, I realized that I was severely lacking grip, » commented Kubica.

« In the last two races, we’ve scored only eight points, and that’s not enough. This trend takes us back to the 2007 season, which is not the team’s goal. »

« I hope that Hungary was the turning point of this failure situation. »
