The Formula 1 drivers praised the quality of the Valencia circuit as part of the European Grand Prix, which is being raced on this track for the first time.
After seeing the circuit for the first time yesterday and after participating in today’s trials, the gentlemen were impressed by the work done in the Spanish port.
The leader of the world championship, Lewis Hamilton declared: « The organizers have done a fantastic job in building this track. »
Felipe Massa for Ferrari added: « This circuit is quite impressive and seems interesting. I think it’s a track quite different from those that have been on the calendar for several years. »
« There are some corners that remind us of Monaco but some angles are very different. There are also very long straights similar to those in Bahrain, for example. »
Sebastian Vettel, future Red Bull driver, stated: « It’s a very beautiful circuit, very wide in certain areas. You have a lot of runoff zones, which is not usual for an urban track. There are sections that are taken at high speed and others at low speed. And you have the walls, so there isn’t much room for mistakes!
