Great confidence in the Honda camp

Jenson Button is confident as he managed to place his Honda in the top 3 during the second free practice of the European Grand Prix on the new Valencia circuit.

The Briton, whose last points came at the Spanish Grand Prix in May, is happy with his RA108 which performed well at the start of the European weekend on a track that was severely lacking grip.

« We had very low grip yesterday morning and I am sure the situation was the same for everyone. The track is very dusty and if you go off the racing line, your tires get dirty quickly, » explained the Honda driver.

We made a lot of changes to the single-seater for yesterday afternoon which turned out to be positive. A large amount of useful information was gathered for further study. »

« It was nice to take a quick run with this tire option (the Super-Softs). I hope we can still improve the car and be competitive in qualifying. »

His teammate, Rubens Barrichello, ended his Friday as the last after making a series of modifications to his car that brought no benefit.

« We had a good session yesterday morning and I felt that the single-seater was very well balanced, but in the afternoon, it was completely different, » said the Brazilian.

We modified some things during the session and unfortunately, there was no real impact in terms of performance.

« I am convinced that we will have resolved these issues for the qualifications. »
