Saturday – Can the Red Bull team catch up?

All the teams know it, there are circuits that suit their cars better. The new Valencia circuit is certainly not the favorite track of Red Bull Racing, who are struggling this Grand Prix weekend.

The qualifying session didn’t improve things as David Coulthard remains stuck in Q1 in 17th place alongside the Hondas and Force Indias. Webber doesn’t do much better with a 14th position.

Mark Webber – 11th and 14th:

« We’ve been searching for speed since the start of the weekend. It’s a new site here, which explains these somewhat shuffled rankings. As for us, we don’t seem to have the pace we had just a few races ago, which is very frustrating. There are indeed a few laps where I enjoyed myself, but Q3 is very far away. »

David Coulthard – 9th and 17th:

« I expected to get past Q1. On my last fast lap, I lost about four-tenths. It’s probably one of my worst qualifying sessions of the season. I’m disappointed. »

Christian Horner – Team Principal:

A very disappointing qualifying. It seems that we don’t have pace here even though the last sector is very fast. It’s difficult to see our drivers starting from 14th and 17th place. A race incident is the only opportunity that would allow us to reach the points. Congratulations to Toro Rosso for placing both cars in the top 10 for the first time.
