Richard Cregan, the Manager of Team Toyota, will leave his position at the end of November.

The Cregan team said it has decided to move forward and take on a new role in another motorsport country and that Cregan’s new position would be confirmed in due course.

At forty-eight years old, Cregan joined Toyota twenty-four years ago as a rally mechanic. Jens Marquardt, who has been working at Toyota Motorsport since 2000 in the engine engineering department, will replace Cregan.

“We are very sad to lose a team member with such qualities, but we understand his reasons and wish him the best of luck in his new challenge,” said Tadashi Yamashina, the team director, yesterday.

« Richard played an important role in the history of Team Toyota. We acknowledge his many achievements, including notably providing a positive work environment at the factory and on the track around the world, as well as applying the Toyota method in Formula 1, where we made significant progress in areas such as pit stop times for the cars. »

« Looking to the future, I am delighted that Jens is taking on this new opportunity, which he particularly deserves. Jens has been with our company for eight years and is a valuable team member who has demonstrated great ability and a very positive attitude. »
