Friday: Hamilton is the first to attack and sets the best time in Free Practice 1. The sun is already shining in the morning, but the conditions are different from those in the afternoon. It is then Timo Glock in the Toyota who takes the best time in Free Practice 2. He is ahead of Alonso, already motivated by victory!

**Saturday:** As predicted, Kubica is the leader of Free Practice 3. Perhaps he is already preparing his departure among the frontrunners of the race. The Renaults are not in the top 5, but Alonso surprises in the qualifying session. He didn’t seem very comfortable this Saturday. He thus joins Hamilton (pole position), Räikkönen, Kovalainen, and Massa… Great performance by the Toro Rossos, both making it into Q3. Bourdais seems more motivated than ever to get into the points.
