The McLaren boss, Ron Dennis, believes that a technical partnership with Force India is still possible, even though uncertainties regarding the new regulations complicate matters.
It was during the Japanese Grand Prix that the information was revealed. McLaren and especially Mercedes-Benz are in talks with Force India to supply engines for the small Indian team.
The deal should have been concluded in the days following the Japanese Grand Prix. However, the cost-cutting measures that are set to be implemented have raised uncertainties about the feasibility of an agreement.
It is understood that the British team must wait for clarification from the FIA to find out whether the agreement is feasible and authorized.
During the recent Chinese Grand Prix, Dennis stated that McLaren still needed to work on the details of the agreement.
