Senna present at the Barcelona tests with Honda

Bruno Senna will be able to experience his first sensations in a Formula 1 car as he will participate in tests with the Honda team during the month of November.

The nephew of Ayrton Senna will join Honda for the first winter test session in Barcelona from November 17 to 19.

At 25 years old, the Brazilian will be behind the wheel of an RA108 to assess his potential for the 2009 season.

The team has not yet confirmed Jenson Button’s partner for next year. Therefore, doubts remain about the future of Rubens Barrichello. We will have to wait until the end of the month to know the driver lineup of the Japanese team.

“We are delighted to give Bruno the opportunity to participate in tests. We continue to explore all possibilities for our second driver in 2009,” said team principal Ross Brawn.

« After an impressive year in GP2, it will be an opportunity for Bruno Senna to prove that he is ready to take the step and compete in F1.

Senna admitted he was thrilled with the idea: « I am obviously very happy to participate in my first Formula 1 tests. This opportunity with Honda is a dream come true. Even though my career in motor racing is recent, I have wanted to get behind the wheel of an F1 car for a very long time. I think I am ready to take on this challenge. »

I have already spent some time at the Brackley factory and I have enjoyed meeting the team and working with the engineers to prepare for this event.
