Toyota will start 2009 without KERS

Toyota President John Howett confirmed that his team would start the 2009 season without KERS.

After a FOTA meeting that voted on a proposal to delay the introduction of the system until 2010, McLaren boss Ron Dennis noted to the press that only one team in Melbourne next March would not have the KERS.

« It is highly unlikely that for the first race we will have the KERS in a secure and reliable manner, » said Howett in Interlagos.

« There remain some big questions that we must answer before definitively introducing the KERS. »
