The Williams F1 team announced this morning in a press release that it has extended its partnership with Allianz, one of the world’s leading service providers.
The team from Grove will thus continue and benefit from an alliance that dates back over 10 years already. The sponsor is also heavily involved in F1, through videos and documentaries produced for, during, and after each Grand Prix of the season, but also in the automotive industry in general, by sponsoring road safety campaigns.
Steven Althaus, Marketing and Communication Director at Allianz SE comments: « Allianz has been linked to F1 for many years and we use it to promote our products. We are therefore delighted with the extension of our agreement with the team ».
Williams prioritizes loyalty and thus has numerous partners for more than 10 years. This is the case with Allianz and more generally with AT&T, but also with Accenture and Thompson.
Frank Williams, the General Manager of the team is delighted to undoubtedly retain THE most vital sponsor for the sustainability of his team. « I want to thank Allianz for their value and long-term commitment. Their continued presence by our side is the best reward for all the efforts we make. »
Regarding the company’s logos, they are only indirectly present through the team’s name (AT&T Williams) and accordingly on all the equipment used by Williams during its travels. They are also present on the race car, but much less visibly than RBS or Lenovo.
Allianz, which generates a large part of its revenue in the banking and insurance sector, also announced it will maintain its partnership with the FIA for a few races in 2009. Phillips also announced the extension of its contract with Williams for the next season.
Will the finances of the English teams be at least balanced?
