Senna: « My debut in F1: A great moment! »

Bruno Senna stated that he fully grasped the significance of his first Formula 1 tests in Barcelona by understanding the meaning of the moment.

The Brazilian, nephew of three-time F1 world champion Ayrton Senna, is undergoing tests with the Honda team. He is alongside his compatriot Lucas di Grassi for a possible seat in 2009.

« The first day of my first tests in Formula 1 lived up to my expectations. I felt immense pleasure, » he commented after achieving the 15th fastest time of the day.

« In the morning, I focused my attention on preparing for my session. I listened to the team on the radio, watched, and learned how the team worked. I felt very calm, but on my first lap out of the pits, I realized the importance of the moment. »

« This is a very special occasion, the dream of a lifetime. »

Senna added that he did not feel under pressure during his afternoon of running, while di Grassi had driven the RA108 in the morning.

« It’s up to me to find my rhythm. At the end of my second run, I felt very comfortable in the car, » said the 25-year-old driver.

There were new sensations that were very different from GP2, such as gear changes, engine power, and aerodynamic elements.

« I need to make some adjustments to be even more comfortable in the car for Wednesday, but generally speaking, I feel good.
