Toro Rosso will announce its drivers in December

Finally, detailed information on the choice of drivers for the Toro Rosso team, as it will officially announce the two names selected for the 2009 season in December.

Since the Barcelona tests, Swiss driver Sébastien Buemi is already said to be the frontrunner as Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz stated, “Sébastien Buemi has a strong chance of being one of the Toro Rosso drivers next year.”

Coming from the Red Bull program, the Swiss driver undoubtedly managed to demonstrate his potential during the tests in Spain, as he was the only one to participate in all three days of testing.

We will therefore have to wait until mid-December before the Jerez tests from the 15th to the 17th to find out whether the Japanese Takuma Sato or the French Sébastien Bourdais will take a place alongside the young Swiss.

But beware, Toro Rosso could still surprise us with another driver who could completely shatter the chances of our two most likely contenders.
