Jarno Trulli, Toyota driver, believes that the chances of advancing on the starting grid have improved thanks to the arrival of Timo Glock in the team.
Glock made his big return to F1 less than a year ago, replacing Ralf Schumacher who was let go by the Japanese team. The Italian believes that the former GP2 champion has been a great help in improving the car.
Speaking on the official Formula 1 website, Trulli stated: « We found that our driving styles were different but our desire to succeed is exactly the same. »
« I think the team is now heading in a good direction to develop the car and become more competitive. »
Trulli also thinks that the progress made by Toyota in 2008 should put the team in a good position to meet the challenges in 2009 with the new regulations.
« The TF108 was a big step forward and allowed us, with Timo Glock, to fight with the leading pack to secure points and podiums, » he explained.
« I am happy with the progress made by the team and I am confident that we will use these very good foundations to close the gap with the best in 2009.
He added: « The goal is to integrate into the leading pack at each Grand Prix. »
