The team based in Silverstone, which used Ferrari engines in 2008, will therefore be equipped with Mercedes engines next year and will receive technical assistance from McLaren.

After scoring no points in 2008, Sutil thinks that the Indian team will be in much better form next season.

« Yes, I believe this will be the beginning of a new era. The partnership with McLaren-Mercedes will help us have a much better car in 2009 and therefore better results, » Sutil stated on the official Formula 1 website.

« Everyone on our team is happy with this partnership. We are all convinced that 2009 will be a great season and that we will score points. »

The German driver nevertheless admitted that it was difficult to maintain unwavering motivation this season, being at the back of the grid most of the time.

« It’s not easy to stay motivated and focused all the time when you know your car isn’t competitive enough to do better than the last row, » he commented.

« But at the end of the day, I’m happy to be in F1 and to know that I will probably have my chance in the future. »
