Michael Schumacher is on the list of donors to the humanitarian foundation led by former American President Bill Clinton.
Last week, he made this list public to avoid any notion of a conflict of interest as his wife Hillary will become the Secretary of State in Barack Obama’s new government next January.
The seven-time F1 world champion donated between 5 and 10 million dollars (between 3.5 and 7 million euros) to the foundation, whose stated goal is to strengthen people’s ability worldwide to tackle the challenges of global interdependence.
Some of the projects funded by the foundation are initiatives aimed at combating AIDS and climate change.
With this amount, Schumacher is a valuable donor since he gives as much as the Norwegian government.
