Ferrari will be the first team to launch its 2009 car after announcing that it will be ready for Monday, January 12.
A first statement was made about fifteen days ago to announce that Ferrari would put its F2009 under the spotlight in early January. January 15th had been suggested, but this date is the launch of Toyota’s TF109.
The team, reigning world Constructors’ champion, will run the F2009 on the Fiorano test track with Felipe Massa as the lead driver.
Ferrari will thus kick off the launches of the 2009 F1 team single-seaters with Toyota on Thursday the 15th and McLaren on January 16th.
Renault and Williams will share the date of January 19, BMW-Sauber will attract attention on January 20 before waiting for the Austrian team Red Bull Racing on February 9.
