After Honda’s withdrawal from the sport, the team manager, Ross Brawn, contacted his former colleagues at Ferrari to be equipped with the famous 2.4-liter V8 engines in 2009. Honda Racing F1 still needs to be sold.
A spokesperson for Ferrari confirmed his words but added a nuance for the German news agency SID: « No agreement has been reached at the moment. »
« He asked us if we would be able to supply him with engines, and we said ‘yes’. »
« That’s all, nothing more, » added the spokesperson.
With Force India and Toro Rosso, Ferrari supplied two Formula 1 teams in 2008, but the former reached an agreement with Mercedes-Benz for the next season.
