Marmorini, Toyota’s engine director leaves the team…

Toyota announced that its chief engineer, Luca Marmorini, has left the team.

The Italian had been part of Toyota Corporation since 1999 and played a key role in the success of Toyota F1.

The reasons for Marmorini’s departure have not been specified, but it forced the team to carry out a reshuffle of its engine development staff.

Kazuo Takeuchi will become the deputy general manager of the engine department. He will report directly to Vice President Yoshiaki Kinoshita, who is notably in charge of the chassis.
