For financial reasons, Williams will not be going to Bahrain for the next winter testing session. Williams’ technical director, Sam Michael, stated that this decision was primarily driven by the significant costs of the trip.
« We have never gone to Bahrain for testing because the difference compared to Europe is 300,000 pounds (337,495 euros) for us. This does not align with the image we want to present in terms of reducing costs. And generally, the weather is better here in February and March. January is the worst month of the year, and we have just gotten through it. » Confides the Englishman on the Autosport website.
Williams therefore opted for the Jerez solution in Spain, hoping that the weather will also be favorable.
