Webber remains positive despite his injury

At the start of the 2009 season, Mark Webber primarily wishes for a complete recovery of his leg, broken after a cycling accident, and keeps an eye on a first victory in Formula 1.

Rather than wasting time on the suffering caused by this injury, he turns to the year 2009, which could be his best season in F1. Webber says he is optimistic about his future as he reflects on the obstacles he has had to overcome in recent months.

He will make his return in a racing seat on Wednesday during the third day of testing in Jerez, Spain.

« But I have never been unhappy because I knew that an incredible season was coming. It’s just another obstacle in my life that I had to overcome, » acknowledged the Australian.

« Other people have more problems in their lives, and I am pleased with the challenge that I was able to overcome. »

Webber believes in the chances of Red Bull Racing, which could make a big leap this season thanks to the regulatory changes introduced in 2009.

« It’s a clean slate for everyone. It’s very exciting for all the teams because each of them could have different standings in each race. »

« There is a chance that a team like Red Bull Racing will benefit from this rules change. »

When asked if this season would make him a winner, Webber stated: Every year, we try to say it, and every year it doesn’t happen. We hope that’s the case this year!
