ING abandons Renault at the end of the season

Renault acknowledges ING’s decision not to renew its Formula 1 partnership program after the 2009 season.

During the past three years, the team and ING have benefited from an excellent collaboration, explained Flavio Briatore, Managing Director of ING Renault F1 Team.

« ING has been a very dynamic and enthusiastic partner, supporting Renault F1 Team at all levels. The result of ING’s partnership with our team and Formula 1 has been very positive, and the brand is now recognized worldwide thanks to an innovative and very active sponsorship program. »

« However, we have been well aware for some time now that global financial conditions call for a restructuring of our sport. That’s why, with FOTA, we are heading in this direction. Drastic cost reductions are one of FOTA’s priorities, and with the measures in place, I am confident that we can ensure a solid future for our team and for Formula 1, » concluded Flavio Briatore.
