The renovation of the Suzuka circuit should be completed within the next two months, before its return to the schedule at the end of the year.
The owner of Suzuka took advantage of the alternation with the Fuji circuit for the Japanese GP to proceed with an upgrade of the on-track facilities.
Official Honda circuit, the manufacturer announced in a statement that the facility would be ready to welcome the world of motorsport again in April.
« The renovation work will soon be completed, » said Honda. The first event is scheduled for April 12 for the F1 Kick Off Party day.
Although the Honda team has left F1, the company has stated that it fully supports the organization of the Japanese race in Suzuka.
The CEO of Honda, Takeo Fukui, stated in December: « The Suzuka GP will take place as scheduled even if Honda will not be on the starting grid. »
