According to a senior Indian executive who spoke to the Indian news agency PTI, Renault is in talks to replace its current sponsor ING with an Indian multinational.
The Dutch bank has decided to withdraw from the sport at the end of the season. A senior Indian official has stated that negotiations are already underway.
PTI even suggests a potential visit of Fernando Alonso to India this year. This would then reveal Renault’s desire to broaden its fan base in populous countries.
