Renault is in talks with an Indian sponsor

According to a senior Indian executive who spoke to the Indian news agency PTI, Renault is in talks to replace its current sponsor ING with an Indian multinational.

The Dutch bank has decided to withdraw from the sport at the end of the season. A senior Indian official has stated that negotiations are already underway.

PTI even suggests a potential visit of Fernando Alonso to India this year. This would then reveal Renault’s desire to broaden its fan base in populous countries.

Currently, the talks are focusing on a major Indian multinational company.

« There are no additional details beyond the fact that talks are ongoing. »

To date, the most significant Indian sponsor in F1 is Tata, in close collaboration with Ferrari, but previously affiliated with Narain Karthikeyan, Jordan, and Williams.
