Nico Hülkenberg, test driver for the Williams team aims to secure a race seat with the team for the 2010 season.
The German joined the British team last year while simultaneously competing in the GP2 and GP2 Asia championships with ART Grand Prix.
The 21-year-old driver thus claims to want a racing seat with the F1 team in a year.
Yes, I want to stay with Williams in 2010 and race for them, announced Hülkenberg on the official F1 website.
He admits, however, that his chances may decrease by then with the ban on in-season testing.
« The testing ban makes things difficult for drivers eager to break into Formula 1 because we can’t get enough experience with the car or the team. »
« But it is far from being an impossible situation. »
