Eight teams on track in Jerez next week

The first race of the 2009 Formula 1 championship is only a month away, but testing resumes tomorrow at the Jerez circuit, with eight teams expected on track: McLaren, Ferrari, BMW-Sauber, Renault, Toyota, Red Bull, Williams, and Force India.

Given that Force India has announced the official presentation of its new Mercedes-powered VJM02 this Sunday other than through photos, all teams will now work with 2009 chassis. Moreover, McLaren should use its 2009 version wings.

This will therefore be the first time this year in testing that all the cars will validate the new regulations imposed by the FIA.

Toro Rosso has chosen to launch its new STR4 on the Adria circuit in Italy, Wednesday, March 4th. Following this shakedown, the Faenza team will join all the others for the final test session in Barcelona starting March 9th.

Regarding the team currently known as Honda, the new car is expected to make an appearance on Thursday, March 5th at the Silverstone circuit. However, an official confirmation on the testing schedule is awaited by the Brackley team.
