Denial – Sato will not go to Red Bull or Toro Rosso!

For a few days, rumors had been circulating and becoming more specific about the future of Takuma Sato. We informed you, as Autosport.com also reported, that the Japanese driver had signed a contract with Red Bull to become a test driver this season for both Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Unfortunately for the Japanese, this is not the case. Sato thus issued a denial late in the afternoon, wanting to clarify the situation. The Japanese driver, who had done several tests with Toro Rosso this winter, said he was disappointed not to have reached an agreement with one of the two teams.

« I am no longer in negotiations, neither with Toro Rosso nor with Red Bull for a third driver contract, » commented the Japanese on his website. « I am very disappointed not to have been able to reach an agreement with them, but you never know what will happen… »

Despite this disappointment, Sato says he is optimistic and sees F1 as his near future: « As everyone knows, I never give up, we are always looking for the best option for my future. »
