Universal Music Group International and its company All The Worlds are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Formula One Management for the creation of F1 ROCKS™, an innovative and electrifying global entertainment platform.
F1 Rocks™ will merge the world’s most popular sports series with the most iconic music stars, to create an unparalleled experience for Formula 1 and music fans.
At the heart of ROCKS F1™ is a series of spectacular musical events featuring various artists, scheduled for each Grand Prix. The combination of live performances by the world’s biggest artists will bring film, sport, and fashion stars on stage, creating televised content broadcast worldwide: the aim being to over-publicize F1.
« The partnership between the world’s most exciting sport and the world’s largest music company is one of the most thrilling entertainment initiatives », said Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group International.
The combination of music, motorsports, and big stars will create a spectacular revolution broadcasted by the multiple platforms of both global brands. I am excited to work with Bernie Ecclestone. He had the imagination to see the potential in F1 ROCKS ™ from the beginning, and we want to create immense success on a global scale.
Bernie Ecclestone added: « I have always said that we are an entertainment business and this agreement marks a new dimension in Formula 1. It is the result of many months of discussions with Lucian Grainge and I am very happy that we are now ready to carry out the project. Universal Music is the largest music distributor in the world and we have high hopes for our common future. »
