Indeed, this measures the consistency of the driver over the 17 races of the season. The first in the race gets 22 points, the second 21 points, and so on.
Another important rule is that any driver who decides to abandon does not earn any points, allowing us to measure their consistency race after race.
This week, the Motors Inside ranking is straightforward as it is an exact reflection of the Australian Grand Prix results. Thus, Button has 22 points, Barrichello 21, Hamilton 20, Glock 19, Alonso 18, Rosberg 17, Buemi 16, Bourdais 15, Sutil 14, Heidfeld 13, Fisichella 12, Webber 11, and Trulli 10 after his penalty and last place at the Australian GP.
The seven other drivers who are not present in this ranking therefore retired during the race.
