Williams, still undecided about the debut of its KERS

The Williams team remains uncertain for the moment about the date of introduction of its KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). A technology already used by several drivers and thus several teams during the inaugural race of the 2009 season.

The system of the Grove team seems slightly different from other teams, but they still don’t know when it will be used.

Technical director Sam Michael stated: « He is on track and we are striving to introduce it in the race as soon as possible. We have had some problems, we are simply working to address them. »

« I would like to be able to say when we will introduce it in the race, but all I can affirm is that we have about 10 people working tirelessly on the project from morning to evening. »

Although the Australian Grand Prix, the first of the season, was won by a car not equipped with the device, Michael believes there is no doubt that the technology offers an advantage.

« It’s a differentiating factor compared to the other teams, and if we don’t have it soon, we can say goodbye to the top ten. The sooner we get the KERS, the better. »
