Saturday: Williams and Rosberg want a podium!

The Williams team has a Toyota engine and, like this team, delivered a strong performance in qualifying. Rosberg is in 6th place, thanks to soft tires, with his teammate Nakajima in 12th on the FW31. Both will more or less benefit from the penalties given to Vettel and Barrichello. In the end, a Williams will start from the second row of the Malaysian GP, giving them high hopes.

Rosberg hopes to make it to the podium, Nakajima to score several points. Wait and see…

Nico Rosberg – 1st and 4th (6th fastest):

« I am very happy to be able to start 4th tomorrow on the starting grid. Our pace during the first two qualifying sessions wasn’t quite as expected, but it was sufficient, and then in Q3, even with a bit of fuel, the car was quite pleasant to drive. I managed to put in a good lap to set the 6th fastest time and especially benefit from the penalties given to other drivers to take the second row. »

« With a good start and a good strategy, we can be optimistic and say that we have a good chance of achieving a podium. We will of course have to be careful of the drivers with KERS (SREC) but one thing is certain, I hope to drive in the dry tomorrow. Even if it rains, I hope we will make the best of the situations that come our way. »

Kazuki Nakajima – 8th and 11th (12th fasted):

« The car was good, I had a good feeling and everything went well today, and I was only a tenth away from reaching Q3… Despite that, I have a good strategy and this position allows me to choose the fuel level I want. I can be in the points if I maintain a good pace throughout the race. »

Sam Michael – Technical Director:

« Today, Nico [Rosberg] had a good qualifying session and we had hoped that Kazuki [Nakajima] would also make it into Q3, but he will ultimately be outside the top 10. Both cars are performing well and tomorrow we look forward to scoring big points. »
