Williams may regret the outcome of the weekend in Malaysia since Rosberg once again impressed during free practice by leading two of the three sessions. Then in qualifying, with a second row.
Unfortunately, the rain did not help the Grove team. Rosberg, after a fantastic start that propelled him to the lead, found himself 8th in this race where only half of the scale was applied. Nakajima is 12th and therefore out of the points.
Nico Rosberg – 8th:
« For some time now, Williams has been at the forefront in terms of pure performance, and I must thank the engineers for that. The car was going very well, and I showed it by pushing hard on every lap. Then, the rain came, and unfortunately, the situation did not turn in our favor. But we still got a small reward. We will look to get the points we deserve next time. »
Kazuki Nakajima – 12th:
« I had some issues with oversteering and found myself surrounded by cars with KERS. I ended up behind Piquet and struggled to get past. Of course, the weather turned stormy, and it was impossible to make the right decision about the changing conditions. In the end, it was the right thing to stop the race, the red flag, and not restart the race. »
Sam Michael – Technical Director
« It was an excellent start for Nico, and he continued with the same level of competitiveness in the dry. When the weather worsened, we made the same tire choice as the cars around us, including the Brawn and Trulli, but they gained more from their stops than we did. »
