The FIA’s judgment will be delivered only this Wednesday

If there are certain things spectators can count on at the start of this season, it’s the successive twists at each race. On one hand, the rankings are shaken up with penalties, and on the other, cars are deemed legal or illegal depending on the mood.

About the judgment on the highly criticized diffusers used by Brawn GP, Toyota, and Williams, the FIA remains true to itself. While the dispute over the legality of the miraculous air suction devices had been raging since the start of the season and four teams had protested in Australia as a result, the FIA had scheduled the appeal hearing as soon as possible, on April 14.

However, the meeting of FIA members in Paris did not result in the announcement of a judgment. According to an FIA representative, it would be normal, in the case of an appeal, for the judges’ decision to be rendered only the following day. This seems logical…

The wait for the legitimacy of the results of the first two races of the season continues. Ultimately, however, this decision will more or less determine the direction the world championship will take this year. Indeed, if it is decided that the diffusers used by the mentioned teams are declared illegal, Fernando Alonso would be declared the winner of the Australian Grand Prix and Nick Heidfeld the winner of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
