Saturday: Brawn GP is loaded with fuel!

The Brawn GP team performed well once again in Qualifying. After posting very good times in Q1 and Q2, Q3 was less easy, but the reason is simple: strategy. Ross Brawn decided to put a lot of fuel in the cars of his drivers, Button and Barrichello. The two men will therefore be heavier than their direct competitors, with a great chance of podium finishes.

Button has already won the first two races of the season and is aiming for a third victory. He will start 5th, behind his teammate: Rubens Barrichello.

Jenson Button – 4th and 5th:

« Our car seems fine here, but there were a few cars faster than we expected today in qualifying. The Red Bulls were very strong in the fast corners, and we then knew that the fight would be tougher than anticipated. It’s going to be interesting to see how the strategies will work. For sure, starting from the front row would have been simpler, but I have good hopes and we will see how the race unfolds. »

Rubens Barrichello – 10th and 4th:

« I had a good qualifying session today, but you can see how quickly F1 can change. We were surprised to see Red Bull at this level of performance. There is strong competition, but with Button, I think we have the best strategy. I think we can build on the results of the previous good races. »

Ross Brawn – Director

The qualifications were more intense than what we had experienced so far. It must be said that the competitors are more efficient and we have always said that they would quickly catch up.

« The single-seater is working well, and despite the positions, 4th and 5th for tomorrow’s start, we are still well placed to secure a victory or podiums. In any case, congratulations to Red Bull for their first pole. It’s great to see this in such an exciting season.
