Mike Gascoyne told the Italian media about his desire to return to Formula 1, and that the prospect of working for Scuderia Ferrari interested him greatly.
The famous engineer, one of the highest-paid in F1, was fired from Force India at the end of last year following disputes with other team employees.
At 46 years old, he is currently working for English television and participated in the last Chinese GP as a technical expert. On this occasion, it seems he was seen in discussions with several teams about his desire to make a comeback.
« I am not looking for a fixed role, but I can work as a consultant in the field of aerodynamics, in wind tunnels, » he explained to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
He also stated that his skills and working methods might suit Ferrari: « Working at Ferrari would enrich my career. I live between Switzerland and Germany with my partner, so going to Maranello wouldn’t be a problem. »
Graduated from the University of Cambridge, Mike Gascoyne has extensive experience in F1, having worked in the field for over 15 years, notably with McLaren, Sauber, Jordan, Renault, or Toyota.
