Saturday: Last row on the grid for Force India

Although Force India announced earlier this weekend that they would race without the KERS in Barcelona, the Indian cars nevertheless took advantage of the return to Europe to install updates on the car. Despite this, Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella remained at the bottom of the standings this Saturday.

The drivers will occupy the last row of the starting grid tomorrow, with Sutil starting 19th, ahead of Fisichella, who is 20th and last, the latter having encountered traffic on his last flying lap.

Adrian Sutil – 19th and 19th:

« We knew it was going to be a tough session and it was! The balance of my car was good and I don’t think missing yesterday’s practice session really disadvantaged us, it was really tight here again. The track conditions were good for us, and the car’s grip improved since this morning but we just didn’t have enough speed at the end of the day to do more. It can be a good day with the people we have around us. »

Giancarlo Fisichella – 18th and 20th:

« I had some problems with traffic on my last lap, and I think I could have improved my time. The car was better, easier than in free practice this morning, and our race pace is always better than in qualifying. With Kovalainen and Räikkönen not far from us, I think the race will be difficult, but we’ll see what we can do with strategy and try to gain a few positions. »

Dominic Harlow – Chief Race Engineer:

« Our two drivers had difficulties finding the best of the car during the qualifications today. Adrian had two good laps at the end of the session and unfortunately Giancarlo encountered traffic. We clearly have work to do to improve our qualifying pace on circuits like this. We will be creative for tomorrow’s race and make the most of every opportunity that may present itself to us. »
