The first weather forecasts for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix do not predict rain, unlike in 2008, which will leave room for the blue skies of the Côte d’Azur this season.
Although last year, Lewis Hamilton dominated the race in the rain, which lasted two hours, this year the sun is expected to hold out for the entire weekend.
Last year, the event in the famous streets of the Principality was the first to take place in wet conditions since 1996, when Olivier Panis and his Ligier dominated the race with only three cars completing the distance.
For 2009, however, warm and sunny conditions are forecasted for the entire weekend, with temperature levels ranging from 19°C to 26°C on race day.
For this Thursday, the afternoon will still be sunny, with an average temperature of 20°C.
Saturday’s forecast predicts the appearance of some clouds with a strong sun presence and an average temperature of 19°C.
Sunday, race day, a slightly overcast sky will appear without the slightest drop of rain and with an average temperature ranging from 22°C to 26°C, promising a beautiful and warm race.
It is likely that a new winner is imminent in the streets of the Principality this weekend, given that none of the Red Bull or Brawn drivers have ever crossed the finish line first in Monte Carlo.
