Mark Webber, Red Bull driver, has ruled out the introduction of KERS for the Belgian Grand Prix taking place this weekend, even though the team has not yet made a decision regarding the upcoming races.
The Milton Keynes activist base revealed that it was considering the possibility of using KERS for the first time at Spa to greatly improve Red Bull’s chances in the championship. However, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner admitted that KERS could prove to be troublesome, although no decision has been made yet for the Italian Grand Prix.
« Spa is not so different from Silverstone and we had a good car at the moment. The KERS will not be disruptive at our stage of development on the car, » said Horner ahead of the upcoming races.
« We will make a decision at Monza after Spa. » Adds the head of Red Bull Racing.
« It could be a fantastic decision, or it could be a disaster, » recommends Ross Brawn. « We’ll have to see the efforts they’re going to make, but I wouldn’t want to face a system like KERS mid-season with no testing. »
