Massa hopes to return to karting competition

Felipe Massa revealed that he hopes to make his return to the world of racing at the famous Brazilian race, Granja Viana in Sao Paulo, by the end of the year. The famous 500-mile race is scheduled for early December, more than four months after the Ferrari driver began recovering from the serious injuries he suffered during the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying session last July.

But Felipe Massa told a Brazilian newspaper that he is unsure about the decision of the doctors who will give him permission to race by then. He then continued on Italian television Sky that his condition was continually improving, but he has not yet been authorized to resume physical training.

“I would like to be able to get back on track tomorrow, because I am bored,” joked the Brazilian driver. “It is not up to me to say when I will return to competition, but rather up to the doctors and the FIA. In fact, I can already drive; everything is as before, including my vision. The problem is safety, because there is a risk of having another accident.”

Ferrari team President, Luca di Montezemolo, emphasizes that Massa will certainly be back racing at the start of the next Formula 1 season.
