The Scuderia Ferrari could announce the transfer of Alonso to the Reds as early as the Japanese Grand Prix next weekend. Lawyers working on the final details of Kimi Räikkönen’s contract have found a solution that would bring the Finn back to McLaren-Mercedes, his previous employer.
The team based in Maranello has announced it would like to quickly reveal the drivers who will compete in the 2010 championship. Team director Stefano Domenicali stated in Singapore this Sunday evening, « I think that as soon as we are ready, we will let you know. We do not want to wait too long. »
When asked by Autosport if this announcement would happen at Suzuka or not, the current Ferrari leader responds: « It’s a possibility, but nothing is guaranteed. » These words clearly show that all that’s left is to set a date for the transfer announcement. An announcement that has been awaited for months!
Once the transfer between Renault and Ferrari for the double world champion driver Alonso is complete, the French team is expected to confirm the Pole Robert Kubica for the 2010 season.
