Despite his convalescence and being remote, Toto Wolff remains very active
Lewis Hamilton has provided details about the absence from the circuits of his boss, Toto Wolff. He is attending all Mercedes meetings, despite being stuck at home due to an operation.
This year, Toto Wolff has not been spared from injuries. During the summer break, the Austrian fractured his elbow and was in a cast for several weeks. In Japan, the boss of Mercedes was not present in the paddock. He had to undergo knee surgery.
In Qatar too, he is still not present and must stay at home. Despite the distance, he remains fully invested and committed to his stable. « Toto is present at every meeting. Toto, even if he is not there in person and is visibly devastated not to be able to be there, he participates in every meeting », confirms Lewis Hamilton.
Engaged and invested
« He is still 100% part of [the team], but he is simply not physically here in the country. And he participates in these meetings, he speaks in all these meetings as he does when he is here. »
For the Brit, his boss deserved some rest for all the work done this year. « And he should be able to have weekends off without any problem. He’s the boss. If I owned the team, I would certainly take my weekends off. »
The seven-time world champion even admitted that he regularly keeps up to date with his boss. « Together, we have unlocked so many things. We have done far more than any other partnership you have seen in sport, on several levels. »
