Lewis Hamilton does not dream of driving a Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton has stated that he does not share the same dream as Fernando Alonso, which is to drive in Formula 1 with Ferrari. When the Spanish driver announced his transfer in 2010 from Renault to the famous Scuderia, he explained that it had always been his dream to drive a prancing horse car. The young 2008 world champion does not have the same goal at all.

“I don’t feel the same desire. Everyone grew up watching Formula 1 on TV and chose their favorite,” explained the young Englishman. “Some like the yellow car, some prefer the red car, and for others, it’s the silver. I’ve always liked silver cars.”

« I still remember when Fernando came here and said it was his dream to drive for McLaren. His dream was to drive the silver car, but you can have more than one dream. » he added.

Lewis Hamilton refused to be drawn into speculation about the likely identity of his future teammate in 2010 but reaffirmed his opinion that Heikki Kovalainen is his preferred colleague.

« I’m trying not to constantly think about what might happen or not » he said when specifically asked about the rumors linking McLaren to Kimi Räikkönen. « I really don’t know who is going to come and I try not to focus on it. I want to be respectful towards Heikki, who is my friend. I think he’s doing a good job, and I can only say that I’m happy to have him as a teammate » concluded Lewis Hamilton.
