Kubica will drive a Renault starting in November

Robert Kubica is expected to start his collaboration with Renault at the Rallye du Var, which will take place on the last weekend of November. This would be the first time the Pole is officially seen driving a Renault. On this occasion, spectators will be able to see Kubica on the roads of the Côte d’Azur behind the wheel of a Clio R3.

The future Renault driver told Auto-Hebdo magazine last Saturday: « It is not 100% certain, but there is a high chance that I will participate. »

Robert Kubica officially announced a few weeks ago his transfer to Renault for the 2010 season. He had previously considered a departure to WRC Rally if he couldn’t find a spot in Formula 1 next year. He wishes to combine work and pleasure: « I will be there to have a good time and have fun. I asked to see videos to get an idea of the track. That said, I already know some of the roads in the region. So I can gauge the difficulty it represents. It will be fun but challenging! »

Other F1 drivers have already occasionally ventured into Rallying, like Räikkönen. The Finn might focus exclusively on Rallying next year if he doesn’t find any interesting offers during the winter.
