Kobayashi happy with his first season

Kamui Kobayashi said he was happy with his first season in Formula 1, despite some difficult moments at the beginning.

The 24-year-old Japanese finished the championship in twelfth place with a sixth place at Silverstone as his best result.

« We had our ups and downs, but overall we had a good season. At the beginning, we struggled a lot. It was quite a bad period. It was tough, and it was very difficult to recover from this situation during the season because today there are no more tests. Despite this, towards the end of the season, we were stronger. »

Kobayashi also indicated that Sauber’s goal for next season is to finish higher in the constructors’ championship, with the team having finished this year 24 points away from the battle for sixth place between Williams and Force India.

My personal goal is to make no mistakes. For the team, I hope we have a good car and that we are able to regularly fight for points in order to improve our position in the championship.
