The first single-seater of 2011 was unveiled this Friday, January 28, in Maranello: the Ferrari F150. The name refers to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, which the Scuderia wishes to honor. The rear wing of the single-seater is, moreover, in the colors of Italy.
The team director, Stefano Domenicali, expects the F150 to be competitive and reliable from the very first Grand Prix, in order to avoid losing points at the start of the season, as happened the previous year.
This one clearly shows its intention to win both championships this season, with its two drivers being treated fairly.
But he does not forget that the competition will be very tough: The big teams will all be very strong, Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes, and other teams could become dangerous outsiders. Let’s not forget that there are great drivers, many world champions.
Nikolas Tombazis, for his part, talks about an innovative rear suspension but also explains that new improvements are still to come before the first race of the season.
The F150 also made its first kilometers on the track, during a shakedown first with Fernando Alonso on Friday afternoon, followed by Felipe Massa the next day.
The two drivers will each take turns at the wheel of their single-seater during the tests in Valencia, from February 1st to 3rd.
